I remember like it was yesterday… the frantic post-G.I. Joe: Retaliation meltdown where everyone was convinced G.I. Joe was dead, the Dollar General exclusives were getting recalled, truly Deth of teh line!11! Here we are a little less than a year later with a good chunk of pretty cool product to look forward to. Included in that product is the “running change” versions of the aforementioned Dollar General figures. So far being spotted in places like Marshall’s and TJ Maxx, these figures promise to be a bit more available than the previous ones.

Paramount International’s YouTube page has just posted an official featurette from the G.I. Joe: Retaliation film. It focuses on Storm Shadow and showcases a wealth of new scenes, new footage, and some incredible behind the scenes interviews with Lee Byung-Hun, Ray Park, Jon Chu, and Lorenzo DiBonaventura. For folks who are all wound up about G.I. Joe: Retaliation like I am, this was two minutes and fourteen seconds of bliss. So cool.

Just dropping a note to let Joe fans know that Sideshow Collectibles updated Snake Eyes w/ fully articulated Timber is in stock and shipping now from Sideshow Toys. This figure is exceedingly well equipped and extremely detailed. A damn sight different from the original Snake Eyes release from so long ago. Timber is huge, too.

As most of you hopefully remember, I got a chance to review two out of the three “Tactical Ninja” boxed set figures a few months ago. Well, now that this set has finally hit retail, I was able to finally round off that three pack with Snake Eyes!
Snake Eyes is…well, sort of a conundrum. He’s got a fantastic mix of different really great parts. But when you bring all of those great parts together, the result isn’t especially captivating or cohesive. You’ll have to check out my G.I. I don’t see a whole lot of unused concepts here, mostly costume designs that ended up in the film, but seeing the progression from art to reality is always awesome. Over on ComicBookMovie.com nailbiter111 has dug up some of those costume concepts courtesy of Aaron Sims.
