G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode 8 Reviewed and added to Episode Guide

We had a little bit of a delay this week as my DVR choked and I had to wait until the 11:30pm repeat before watching the episode, grabbing the video, and writing up the review.  I think the turnaround time was still pretty damn good.  😉
Check out the G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode Guide, or just hit up Episode 8 “Rage” directly right here.  Lots of very cool Easter Eggs for Joe fans in this one.   Enjoy!

G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode Eight Promo

Thanks to Kenny, who reminded me to get my DVR rolling tonight, I managed to get a promo for next week’s episode of G.I. Joe: Renegades. Episode 8 supposedly will introduce Scrap Iron. The full episode description as found on my Renegades SuperSite is as follows:

“Scrap-Iron kidnaps Tunnel Rat and uses him to test a weaponized exo-suit. Roadblock attempts a rescue by allowing himself to be kidnapped as well.”

From a conceptual standpoint, these Exo-Suits remind me a lot of the SNAKE Armor from the Marvel days. Robotic suits of armor that control the user’s mind…very interesting. Check out the embedded video below.

It’s nice to at least have 30 seconds of Renegades goodness tonight. I think I’m going to have withdrawls…

Scrap Iron explodes into G.I. Joe: Renegades!

The hits just keep on coming for this new G.I. Joe animated series…  over the past two weeks we’ve met Breaker and Jinx, and now apparently, in Episode (which airs in January) we are set to meet Scrap Iron!  Who he works for and his motivations are currently unknown, but thanks to TVGuide.com, we know what his next moves are:

“Scrap-Iron kidnaps Tunnel Rat and uses him to test a weaponized exo-suit. Roadblock attempts a rescue by allowing himself to be kidnapped as well.”

Hmmm…a weaponized exo-suit?  Could it be this:

I guess we’ll find out January 7th!  Thanks to kennywr22 and The Terror Drome for the info.

Kick Ass Customs – OreoBuilder's Robot Rebellion

I don’t think enough fans really appreciate what we had during the “new sculpt” days…as I worked on my Top 15 figures of the past decade feature, I continued to be impressed by the designs we were getting from 2003 – 2006, it was just a bit unfortunate that the sculpting had some proportion and functional issues.  From a pure design standpoint, though, there was some awesome, impressive stuff.
Well, JoeCustoms member OreoBuilder took some of those great designs, as well as some thoughts of what was going to be “Robot Rebellion” (the follow up to Valor Vs. Venom) and produced some absolutely fantastic 25th Anniversary style customs using those designs as inspiration.  Seriously, these figures look SICK.  Quite a departure from your typical look, but amazing looking figures and near production level custom quality.  This is exactly why I’d love to see Hasbro dip into the 2000 – 2006 well when doing some of their 25th and Rise of Cobra style figures.  Even though lots of fans don’t have any attachment to that era, there is lots of great, credible inspiration that can be drawn from there.
