Yes, the recording schedule has been a bit hap hazard, especially with no real news to talk about, but that’s changed over the past few weeks as the news for G.I. Joe has had a resurgence, especially with the 50th Anniversary line being released to retail! We also talk about our favorite Marvel Comics Covers and talk Coil Con.
Not only that, but we talk to Carson of 3D Joes about his exciting 3D Joes Poster Kickstarter Campaign!

From one Convention right into another. Fresh off of our return to normal broadcasting schedule from the 2012 G.I. Joe Convention, the crew from What’s on Joe Mind immediately jumps to the next convention, this time the familiar ComicCon in San Diego.
With not much G.I. Joe news likely there, we bring in Arune Singh to talk about Marvel’s presence there and what we might expect from the House of Ideas. We also bring in Moira Hunger to talk in more detail about the IDW seminar at JoeCon and comic nerdery in general.
But it’s not all about Comics, there is a healthy helping of G.I. Joe talk as well. Check out our latest episode on our Podbean Page, or via the embedded players below. Show notes as always are after the jump.
For G.I. Joe fans who have been following the property for only a few short years, this may come as a surprise, but believe it or not, there was a time, not very long ago, where Roadblock wasn’t a household name. In fact, he wasn’t even on Hasbro’s radar. A victim of lost trademarks, it seemed inevitable that Roadblock would simply fade from the consciousness of the G.I. Joe faithful and no longer be a major part of ongoing canon.
Sure didn’t turn out that way, huh?
I must give credit to long time Joe buddy Todd of Magnum 6 Delta for prompting me to put this post together, and considering the G.I. Joe: Retaliation motion picture on the horizon, and the potential for redefining the core characters of the Real American Hero brand, the timing couldn’t be better. Wow, it’s hard to believe that it’s been a full year since the What’s on Joe Mind podcast launched, but the guys certainly know how to celebrate. Episode #52 features not just an interview with Michael Bell to celebrate, but we also opened our phone lines to all of our fans! For over three hours we had a constant stream of callers dialing in to shoot the breeze, ask questions, and just generally have some fun.
Not only that, but we had some old friends stop by and hang out on the show for a little while, which was a really fun, awesome experience.
I just happened to be running a little late for this one, but I should pop up about an hour into the episode, and eventually I don’t sound like I’m talking in a trash can. Listen to this landmark 1 year anniversary episode on Podbean.com, or check it out via the embedded player below. As always, the show notes will be after the jump.
It’s the golden episode of the web’s longest running G.I. Joe podcast, What’s on Joe Mind! Join us as we celebrate the occasion with former G.I. Joe comic writer Brandon Jerwa, with Marvel Comics Director of Communications Arune Singh, and featuring some very surprising (and most welcome) call-in congratulations!
The first 30 seconds of the show is about the most geeked-out moment I have ever experienced in the history of G.I. Joe collecting. It’s a “can’t miss” experience!
For G.I. Joe fans, you’re going to want to hear about Brandon Jerwa’s new project “Shooters” that he is working on with Eric Trautman and artist Steve Lieber. It’s a tight, emotional, military-themed graphic novel that I haven’t been able to put down! Hear all about it on the show.
As always, hit up our Podbean Page, or check it out via the embedded player below. As always the full blown show notes are after the jump.
