New G.I. Joe: Retaliation preview at Digital Spy with NEW FOOTAGE!

Good grief, I just might die of anticipation before this movie even comes out…

Digital Spy has posted a very nicely composed G.I. Joe: Retaliation preview/trailer with a good mix of many of the action sequences we’ve seen before.  But mixed within these action sequences are some new seconds of footage as well!  See a great front shot of the HISS Tank, and Lady Jaye in a sports bra!

One of those may be more enjoyable than the other…it will depend on your point of view.

Check out the trailer at Digital Spy, or embedded below.

I hope you’re listening, Paramount.  If I die from anticipation before I see this movie, and you delayed it 9 months, it is YOUR FAULT.

Running time for G.I. Joe: Retaliation clocks in at two hours and five minutes

As reported by BCYOJOE on HISSTank.com, the MANN Theaters website has been updated with more details about G.I. Joe: Retaliation.  The following details have appeared on the site:

Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, D.J. Cotrona, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson

Director: John M. Chu

Opening Date: 3.29.13

Rating: PG-13

Running Time: 125 mins

Genre(s): Action

Synopsis:

Veteran dance-film director Jon Chu takes a crack at G.I. Joe in this sequel to Stephen Sommers’ blockbuster 2009 film. Dwayne Johnson stars as Roadblock in the sequel, with Channing Tatum returning as Duke, the leader of the Joes, and Ray Park joining them as mute ninja Snake Eyes. Bruce Willis, Ray Stevenson, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, Lee Byung-hun, Elodie Yung, and RZA co-star.

So at 125 minutes, the official run time is just over 2 hours.  I think that’s a good amount.  Seems amazing though, that there’s several years worth of build up for an experience that will last just over 125 minutes, and the end result could shape the future of the franchise.  Pretty bizarre, and a clear indication of the power of Hollywood.

Another interesting note is that MANN Theaters puts the official release date still at March 29th, which I think just goes further to prove the March 28th date seen in recent trailers and TV Spots is just reflecting a midnight (or earlier) premiere, and isn’t a reflection of a real change in the launch date.

A trio of TV Spots on the G.I. Joe: Retaliation YouTube page

Two of these TV Spots have been uploaded before…  “Fist” and “Drive It” are both a couple of months old, but for whatever reason just showed up as re-uploaded to the G.I. Joe Movie YouTube Channel.  I’m thinking they may be updated all of these TV Spots in 1080p, but I’m not sure.

Regardless, I’ll take whatever excuse I can to check out footage from the upcoming movie, and I’m thinking most of you will, too.  Not only that, but a third TV spot entitled “Rock Solid” has now been uploaded as well.  While the name is new, the footage is the same.

Oh, wait a minute.  As was mentioned a couple of days ago, the release date of G.I. Joe: Retaliation has been changed (apparently) to March 28th.  These TV Spots all reflect the changed release date, so evidently Paramount is uploading all of the old TV Spots again, with the new release date.  Now it all makes sense.

Well, I’m here anyway, so here are those TV spots.  Enjoy!
