Should the GIJCC fill in the holes of 25th Anniversary product?

This is something I’ve been thinking about for a little while…with rumors persisting that a lot of the o-ring product is probably too damaged to use, I can see the Club quickly running out of options for parts for the classic style figures.  As such, they’ll need to (by necessity) move on to the Anniversary construction.  No idea what the time frame on this might be (if it’s even the case) but I would imagine soon enough, we’ll see the migration over to the new style construction for GIJCC related product.
So, now the question is…  if the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club wanted to get some mileage out of the 25th Anniversary tooling, would you have any issues with them producing vintage homage figures like Dial Tone, Low Light, or Airtight as convention exclusives or membership incentive figures?
Considering the fact that Hasbro seems adamant that they’re not interested in fully revisiting the 25th Anniversary, so the Club may be our only chance of getting the critical holes filled in the cast for 25th Anniversary figures.  Yet, I still remember the furor that the Transformers Collectors’ Club endured when they produced the remaining Seekers as part of their Botcon exclusives a few years ago.
So, the question remains…  would you be willing to spend more money on convention or membership incentive figures to get the remaining figures in the 1986 – 1994 line up?  Would that be better than not getting them at all?  Or would that just be a slap in the face?
From my own perspective, I typically purchase the convention and membership incentive figures anyway, so I’d welcome getting these figures any chance we get.  It’s obvious Hasbro isn’t going to go out of their way to do it themselves, so isn’t a more expensive option better than nothing?
Thoughts?

Official press images of the San Diego ComicCon Sgt. Slaughter

Hasbro has provided us with final press photos of the soon-to-be-released SDCC exclusive version of Sgt. Slaughter!  Like the Gold Headed Destro and Cobra Commander, there will be two different versions of the exclusive.  The Primary Release, which is the one decoed like the mailaway (with the USA on his shirt) and a Variant Release, which is the one decoed like the TTT driver with the camouflage pants.
These are expected to also be available via HasbroToyShop as previous SDCC exclusives have been.  Check out the press images in some nice high-res glory below.  I know this figure has sparked a lot of frustrations throughout the fandom, and I can see their perspective.  Everyone is used to the cartoon-infused mega muscular Sgt. Slaughter, while in real life he was never built like that.  From my own perspective, I think a more natural physique was a great choice.  Sure, he looks more human, but he also looks more like the character who sparked the kids of the 80’s to jump into the G.I. Joe universe.  Sculpting someone all musclebound and ripped up takes a certain skill, sure, but in my mind it almost takes more skill to make a fairly normal person, but still maintain a certain level of detail and quality.  I think they definitely did that here.  I’m really looking forward to adding this figure to my collection.  In fact, it’s really sparked a renewed interest in my head with the Anniversary line, and made me really hope that Hasbro dips back into that well in 2010 and 2011 to fill in some of those holes, especially in 1986.

The top 10 G.I. Joe Events of the decade

In real life world, 10 years sometimes can go by in a flash…although a lot has changed for me personally since 2000, it still seems like it just flew by.  I’ve gained a wife, 2 children, moved back to my hometown, gone through two different jobs, lost 125 pounds, and completely changed my career path and overall life philosophy.  Yet, it still kinda feels like yesterday.

In G.I. Joe world, however, the past 10 years might as well have been 5 separate lifetimes.  It’s been a roller coaster ride for certain since the 2000’s began, and this decade has been absolutely loaded with G.I. Joe related events.  So what are the ten most important events of the past 10 years?  Here they are, in my opinion (below the jump):
