IDW G.I. Joe Solicitations for March, 2013

IWD Publishing has released their solicitation list for March, 2013, and of course we’ve got the G.I. Joe titles listed here.  G.I. Joe: Special Missions kicks off in March, with the Cobra Files coming in April.

I’m loving the cover of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero book, too… Torpedo FTW.

Check out the full solicitation list after the jump.

Dynamic Forces offers exclusive signed copy of G.I. Joe #1 by Fred Van Lente!

We’ve had a flurry of announcements regarding the next iteration of G.I. Joe comics coming out in 2013 with Fred Van Lente at the helm of the flagship book.  I just got word from Dynamic Forces that they will also be offering an exclusive version of issue #1 with a signature by Fred Van Lente himself!

For a limited time, this pre-order is only $10.00, but will be returning to the full price of $29.99 on January 1st, 2013.  If you’re even considering picking this up, the time is now.  Check out the pre-order on DynamicForces.com, and thanks to Dynamite Entertainment for passing the word along.

IDW G.I. Joe Solicitations for February, 2013

The next evolution of G.I. Joe comics is upon us, and the solicitations for February, 2013 reflect this new shift.  With no new monthly Cobra or Snake Eyes titles, the IDW universe officially moves on to 2013 and beyond with the first issues of  Special Missions and the Cobra Files hitting in March and April respectively.

Check out what we can expect from the new G.I. Joe #1 as well as G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #187 after the jump.

USA Today features first look at more IDW G.I. Joe details

With IDW’s reconfiguration of their slate of G.I. Joe titles next year, new writer Fred Van Lente has been making the rounds (including a written interview on GeneralsJoes and appearing on Episode 69 of What’s on Joe Mind).  Today, uber-geek Brian Truitt from USA Today posted a terrific look at the new upcoming IDW G.I. Joe title, with the first look at some exclusive cover art.

Along with Steve Kurth’s regular cover we see a spectacular variant cover by Arthur Adams as well as a great looking team shot by Jamal Igle.

We get some more great details about what life is like for this new G.I. Joe team and how the new events impact them.  There are more and more indications that Snake Eyes is at least taking a break from the spotlight here, which I think is a very bold and very cool move.

Check out the article at USA Today, and I’ve mirrored a couple of the variant covers below.  If you like the Baroness art by Arthur Adams, make sure to hit up his website and order the print!  It’s only ten bucks and it looks fantastic.

Big thanks as always to Brian Truitt for continuing to give G.I. Joe some high profile publicity.  Joe fans love ya, Brian.  Make sure you’re following him on Twitter for the latest geek news and intel from USA Today.

What’s on Joe Mind Episode 69 (Dude!) featuring new G.I. Joe writer Fred Van Lente

It seems so impossible that we’ve already hit 69 episodes of What’s on Joe Mind, but here we are.  And childish jokes aside, this is a great episode!  We spend some time throughout election night speaking with new IDW G.I. Joe writer Fred Van Lente and Marvel Director of Communications Arune Singh.  We also interview one of the brainchildren behind Cobra Stickers, RJ, and of course chock full of news and G.I. Joe related content.

I know we’re not pushing these out on a weekly basis anymore, but hopefully we’re generating content worth waiting for.  As always, check this out on our Podbean Page, or via the embedded players below.  Also make sure to click the Read the Rest of the Story link below for all the show notes.
