Support Operation Scales to Tales 2 and bring books to our troops overseas

Some of you folks might have heard of Operation: Paperback which is a great non-profit organization that promises to provide gently used books to our troops overseas as a way to thank them for their service and help occupy some of their down time with entertaining distractions.

Well, the Cobra 1st Legion, a G.I. Joe-themed cosplay/charity group is supporting this great organization with their own “Operation Scales to Tales 2”!  They’ve got a post up on Facebook with all of the information, I strongly recommend you guys check it out and do what you can do to help them out.  They do some excellent G.I. Joe cosplaying, and kudos to them for this endeavor.

Check out all of the details on the Cobra 1st Legion Facebook page.

G.I. Joe: Special Ops online game Beta is LIVE!

Yes, that’s right, folks!  We have an online G.I. Joe game to play.

Just on a whim, I hit up the SyFy.com G.I. Joe: Special Ops site this morning and clicked “Play Beta” and guess what?

no images were found

The game started, that’s what!  It loaded up through Facebook, so I’m not sure if the non-Facebook version is available yet or not, but it looks like at least for Facebook users, you can try out the Beta of G.I. Joe: Special Ops RIGHT NOW.

Keep in mind, a Beta version of the game will potentially have some technical glitches, so don’t think this is the finished version.  Go out there and kick the tires, though.

Stop reading, and hit it up!

G.I. Joe: Renegades rumors are swirling… help uncover the mystery!

So I’ve been an unabashed fan of G.I. Joe: Renegades since day one, and my love affair with it continues on now.  I own every episode in HD through iTunes and watch them regularly.  The story, plot, and character development was awesome, and the character design, which was a sore spot early in the show’s creation, really started to come along as Season 1 drew to a close.

Since I have such a love affair for the property, my interest was obviously tweaked by a Tweet from Rich of ARealAmericanHero.com earlier today.  He reported that he had some big news about a potential G.I. Joe: Renegades event, but had to clear it with some folks first.

I’ve known Rich for a while now, and I met him face-to-face finally at Toy Fair this past weekend, and knowing him like I do, when he says he has news, and he says he has a source, I believe him.  So, I really think there is some validity to this rumor, or I wouldn’t be talking about it here.

Rich now has clearance to talk about it…but he wants to put us through the ringer first.  😉

Rich has put out the challenge…if his Facebook page can get 100 likes, he will reveal this mysterious G.I. Joe: Renegades related rumor.  Folks, this shouldn’t be hard.  His site his great, the Facebook page is great, every Joe fan should be all over it anyway, and he’s already got 92 likes for crying out loud.  Let’s step up, let’s like his page (which is awesome anyway) so we can hear what’s possibly next for G.I. Joe: Renegades.

Not only that, but he’s also got some great images and coverage of his Toy Fair visit, too.  So, hit Facebook, click “Like”, check out his Toy Fair pics, and hopefully in just a short while we’ll have some G.I. Joe: Renegades rumors to drool over.

Hit it up!

GeneralsJoes is on Facebook!

I’ve had my own personal Facebook page for a while now, and have been toying with getting the site on it’s own page as well, but didn’t want to do it until I could do it right.
And in light of recent security worries about Facebook, I figured this was the perfect time to reveal even more about myself than ever before.  Whatever you do, don’t click on the link called “Bank Account Information” in my profile.  Trust me, it’s nothing important.  :shifty:
I’ve created a GeneralsJoes “Fanpage” which will automatically feed all of my WordPress blog posts straight into it, and it appears to work fairly seamlessly.  Eagle eyed readers probably saw me tearing my hair out tonight while I tested it.  I’m using a pretty cool plug in, but you can only test it by actually publishing a post.  D’oh.
Anyway.  Check out the GeneralsJoes Fan Page right here, and there should now be all sorts of funky little Facebook buttons all over the site, so you can tell me how awesome I am.  You can also click the spiffy page badge below.
