Defense of COBRA Island Alley-Viper images

Whoever said Sunday was a “day of rest” didn’t pass the word along to Cmderinchief, as he’s posted another nice gallery of an upcoming figure, this time the Defense of COBRA Island Alley-Viper.  With some fantastic gear, two removable knives, and loads of detail, this is, without a doubt, one of the highlights of the Anniversary line.  I’m thrilled that Hasbro found a way to get it released, and I cannot wait to see what else they might do with it going forward.  Awesome figure.

Original thread is here, check out the images below.

Great Alley-Viper review posted online

Anyone who hasn’t checked out the Last Best Angry Man Toy Review blog is really missing out on not only some great insight, but some humor along with it.  The guy behind the site (who goes by Irid70 on HissTank and the Terror Drome) has wrapped his meathooks around one of the upcoming Alley-Viper figures from the Defense of COBRA Island 7-Pack and posted his review here.  Some very nice images of a figure that looks to be a sure-fire winner.

Thanks to The Terror Drome for pointing out this great review!

COBRA Island Alley-Viper for sale loose through Black Sheep Toy Store

eBay seller Black Sheep Toy Store has re-listed the loose Defense of COBRA Island Alley-Viper figure, and it appears to come fully loaded with a full compliment of accessories, but at a much better price.  Previously selling for $29.99, the figure has now been relisted at $14.99 with free shipping!  Not a bad deal for folks wanting to bulk up on their Alley-Viper squads without dropping $40.00 apiece on 7-packs.

The auction is here and the images are below.

Now if only he’d drop the price on that Resolute Baroness…      Thanks to Ricardogasjr of HissTank.com for the intel.

HUGE number of new pictures of upcoming COBRA Island 7-Packs

We’ve been getting treated to some ACToys image goodness over the past couple of weeks, and today is no exception as a couple of particular threads are inundated with new images of the upcoming Defense of COBRA Island and Assault of COBRA Island 7-Packs.  Over thirty images all told!  If this is the last real gasp for the 25th Anniversary line, it is going out with a very large bang!  The two threads can be found here and here and the wealth of images are all mirrored below.  Great stuff.

Official Hasbro images of COBRA Island 7-Packs online

Yeesh, these images are hitting everywhere…  packaged and loose pictures of the two upcoming Assault and Defense of COBRA Island 7-Packs are starting to hit pretty much every site on the ‘net.  Man do these things look great.  Items of note…  Chuckles now has his proper light blue shirt!  Outback appears to be in a Night Force uniform, since the regular version is hitting with the FLAK after all.  Strato-Viper is now being called “Air Viper”, and the Dr. Mindbender looks considerably different than he did in promo pictures.  Where it looked like he had a lot of new tooling in the promotional images, these more recent pics show Gung Ho’s torso and the Crimson Guard legs.  Some curious choices, but they work, ultimately.

Overall, I’m happy with what I’m seeing here.  Hasbro managed to knock out a huge chunk of a lot of “want lists” with these two 7-packs, but still left enough up in the air to keep folks hanging for those vintage homages.  A neat formula.  Probably the two gems of these two packs to me (besides Hit and Run.  WOOt we’re getting a Hit and Run!!!  😀 ) would be Zap and Alley-Viper.  It takes a lot to make an Original 13 guy appeal to me, but Zap rocks my world.  Those twin holsters are too cool, and even though his uniform is relatively simple, it manages to be crammed with nice little details.  Love that figure.  Alley-Viper…well, I can’t really say enough about that one.  He is pure beauty.  Enough of the words, though, check out the pictoral goodness:
