More “shorts stuff” from Alexx, this time the COBRA Gunship

When I first saw the COBRA Gunship in person at the Toy Fair in New York, I couldn’t have been less impressed.  It looked basically like a silver slab of metal that just gets tossed through the air with no real means of propulsion or maneuvering.  Well, none of that has changed, yet somehow, I’ve altered my feelings on the Gunship from “meh” to “gotta have it right now, dammit when is my BBTS order gonna get here, I’m dying over here!!!”

I’m not sure exactly why that is, whether it was Duck’s review over on JBL, or that it’s getting so much action in the trailers and TV spots.  I’m easily swayed like that.  :shifty:

At any rate, I’m really looking forward to getting the goofy thing in my hands right now, but Alexx’s pictures ease that pain just a little.  Check out the thread here, and the images below.

Some great photos of Rise of COBRA vehicles hitting this weekend

Joefans far and wide are getting their hands on new Rise of COBRA items (present company excluded, unfortunately…  :shifty: ) and lots of folks have started showing pictures and giving their thoughts.  JoeBattleLines member Duck has posted some VERY nice images in a couple of different threads over there.  There are some links and photo mirrors below.

I gotta say…the more pics I see of the COBRA Gunship, the more I’m rethinking my opinion of it.  In fact, I swore I wasn’t going to buy any Rise of COBRA vehicles, mostly for budgetary reasons, but seeing this thing and the Steel Crusher (and The Pit for that matter) more in depth…man, I don’t know if I can hold out.  Some great looking vehicles that fit in nicely with the Joe movie style.  Love all the hidden features, too.

Some COBRA Gunship pictures on ACToys.net

One of the more underwhelming toys coming in the Rise of COBRA line, in my opinion, is the COBRA Gunship.  It looks mostly like a helicopter with no rotors and no real physical way to fly, yet is shown in trailers whipping through the sky.  How exactly does that work?  Well, I suppose it’s no more out of the ordinary than Trubble Bubbles, etc…  but one thing this picture showed me is the size of the Gunship.  I don’t know why, but I didn’t realize it was so large.  That actually impresses me a bit more, though I’m still not wild about the whole look of the vehicle.

Anyway, check out this thread on AC Toys, or check out the trio of images below.
