Coil Con 2012 cranks it up a notch with ZILANT!

Wow…  it’s amazing what a little creativity can do with some easily accessible parts, and the guys over at the Coil Con (most notably, Jay Hunger from Carded Heroes) have knocked it out of the park with the first reveal of their Convention exclusive figures this year.

Zilant leads the Coil team, and he is rocking a great green and red paint scheme, using some awesome parts from various G.I. Joe: Renegades figures.  I think most people would agree that the infamous Black Ice figure is what really put the Canadian JoeCon on the map a number of years ago…I suspect Zilant may have the same affect for Coil Con.  A truly inspired, evil looking figure.  Kudos to Jay and the Coil guys for getting this together, and make sure you keep your browsers on or the Coil Con Facebook Page for the latest info on the Coil get together.

It’s coming up soon, on September 8th, and will feature appearances by IDW artist Robert Atkins, author James Kavanaugh, and the JoeDeclassified guys as well.  Don’t miss it, it sounds like a great time.  Wish I could be there!

Carded Heroes reviews upcoming (hopefully) Kwinn figure!

Considering they are apparently this far along in the production process, I would guess that chances of seeing Kwinn at some point in the future are probably pretty good.  But if not, we can all live vicariously through Gary (who owns this piece) or Jay (who reviewed this piece).

I will try to set aside my raging jealousy for a moment and commend Jay for a fantastic review of this much anticipated figure.  But even more importantly than that I can’t help but just marvel at the figure itself.  So basic, yet so amazing.  Evident now is that some of these parts were also used in the GIJCC Footloose figure, but seeing it all come together here on Kwinn is just a sight to behold.  A figure that has been so desired for so long, and seeing it done this well.  It is exceptionally painful to think this does not yet have a retail spot, yet also exhilarating to think it most likely will get some sort of release some time (hopefully) soon.  I know I’ll be hassling Hasbro about this guy in New Orleans.

Check out the full review over at and I’ve also mirrored a few images below.

And if you see Gary Godsoe at the Con, give him a nut kick and tell him to send the figure to me next time.  Kay?  Thanks.

Carded Heroes continues G.I. Joe: Retaliation week with Roadblock

Another day, another G.I. Joe: Retaliation review over at Carded Heroes!  This time around it’s Roadblock.  Jay looks like he feels the same way about this figure as I do…a very cool figure, tons of potential, yet just lacking with that action gimmick and some articulation deficiencies.

I’ve mirrored a couple of images below as usual, but definitely head to Carded Heroes to get all of the details and see the rest of the images.
