GeneralsJoes Reviews IDW G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero 188

With all of the excitement surrounding IDW’s big G.I. Joe relaunch, a title has been a little lost in the shuffle, mostly because it’s the one title that isn’t changing at all.  That’s right, 188 issues into it and still going strong, Larry Hama and SL Gallant’s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero hits us this Wednesday (that’s today!)  in comic stores everywhere, and as we’ve come to expect every month, does a terrific job continuing on the legacy of a Real American Hero.

Check out the full review after the jump.  Be warned… spoilers afoot!

GeneralsJoes Reviews "Vacation in the Shadows" 2010 Convention Set!

Yes, it took me for-freaking-ever, but here it is.
I try to get reviews done as quickly as humanly possible, but when there are so many figures, so many vehicles, so many pictures, and so many things to talk about, well…  sometimes it takes a little while.  When it comes to my o-ring babies I like to make sure and take as much time as it takes to do the review right.
Of course, if something is screwed up, let me know.
At any rate…  over in the GIJCC Exclusives section, I have posted the review (finally!) for the 2010 Convention Set, “Vacation in the Shadows”.  It’s a three-page behemoth with over a hundred images and more words than even I like to type.  And I’m pretty damn long winded.
Check it out directly right here.

JoeCon 2010 Recap – Thursday (Con Exclusives!)

As usual, the Convention started with a sprint that quickly led to the abrupt halt that is known as “pre-registration”.  Actually, to be fair, the lines were not bad at all this year, and I give all the credit in the world to the line monitors who did an absolutely awesome job.  They all deserve commendation.  Especially for those damn orange vests they had to wear.  :shifty:
In all seriousness, the lines all moved at a very brisk pace and things went smooth as silk.  I did have to step out for about 40 minutes to help Mark Bellomo unload his car down through the freight elevator, which added some excitement.  Click the “Read the rest of this entry” link below to get a run down.

Awesome Red Shadows gallery courtesy of Gyre-Viper

Posted over at HissTank.com, Gyre-Viper once again gets his purple-fingered mitts on some soon to be released G.I. Joe items, this time around, from the Vacation in the Shadows Convention set!  Sure, we’ve seen official production images of these awesome figures, but Gyre-Viper gives us some great comparison shots with some of the originals, which is just plain bad ass.  Seeing Red Laser next to the updated Red Shadow is all sorts of cool.  A great idea for him to do this, and some images that I’m really enjoying.
I’m not sure about anyone else, but this year’s set has really stoked the fire for Action Force for me, and I think Joe fans are doing themselves a disservice if they don’t check out how the universe unfolded over the pond.  Some great untold stories that I hope to spend some time on as we lead up to the Con.
Thanks again to Gyre-Viper for taking these pics!  Good stuff.
