Eagle Force Stryker reveal emphasizes support for Adventure People

Zica Toys recently relaunched their Adventure People Kickstarter, and is making some great progress, already accumulating over $15,000 of their $25,000 goal. This fun looking Kickstarter includes some nostalgia based characters like Captain Action and Action Jackson, as well as some different variations of those figures.

Meanwhile, over on the Eagle Force Returns Facebook page, Fresh Monkey Fiction has revealed the first look at Stryker, one of the new characters from the upcoming Eagle Force line. One thing to note with this first reveal is that he’s using some Adventure People parts. Fresh Monkey Fiction noted that the success of the Adventure People Kickstarter could go a long way towards ensuring that Eagle Force has access to their library of tooling to spin out some great looking figures like this.

I think Stryker looks pretty great, and I know with the Adventure People’s new Kickstarter methodology, I’ll be pledging some support that way as well.

Keep watching the Eagle Force Returns Facebook page for the latest updates, and if you like what you see there, consider pledging towards the Adventure People Kickstarter, too!

Zica Toys reveals resin hard copies of Captain Action and others

We’ve been following the progress of Zica Toys‘ Captain Action Kickstarter preparation ever since they first announced it a while ago, and this latest update has us pretty excited!

Over on their Facebook page, Zica has revealed the first resin versions of Captain Action, Captain Evil, and Action Jackson, a recently revealed part of their upcoming Kickstarter!

With figures designed by Boss Fight Studio, these Captain Action toys look like a great blend between modern stylings and vintage aesthetic. I’m digging what I’m seeing so far.

Keep watching the Zica Toys Facebook Page for updates, and believe me, we’ll be letting you know when the Kickstarter is up and running.

Zica Toys reveals digital image for 80s G.I. Joe inspired Captain Action

Over the past several months, Zica Toys has been releasing many vintage themed action figures, with the Six Million Dollar Man toys getting the most mainstream attention (that I’ve seen).

A while ago, I had reported that they had obtained the license for Captain Action, and had said they would be producing vintage style figures, in the same vein as the old school G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toys.  Well, obviously this caught my eye, and many other eyes as well.

For the first time, over on their Facebook page, Zica Toys has revealed a digital image of this upcoming Captain Action figure, which does look reminiscent of the G.I. Joe figures of old, though the waist joint certainly doesn’t quite look the same.  Also, there is no familiar “Swivel Arm Battle Grip”, however, there is a swivel above the bicep/tricep according to Zica Toys.  The figure will also apparently have double jointed knees and elbows, though.  Check out the digital image below, and be sure to keep watching the Zica Toys Facebook Page for any updates!

ZICA Toys announces 3 3/4″ Captain Action figures in the 80s G.I. Joe format!

Very exciting news for retro enthusiasts today, as ZICA Toys announced via their Facebook page that they have landed the license for Captain Action, and will be producing 3 3/4″ action figures in the same style as vintage G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero!

In the Facebook comments thread, they are quick to point out these figures will NOT have “o-rings” but will maintain the same scale and style as some of our classic favorites.

I am…  enthused about this.  Quite enthused.

Captain Action has always had an appeal for me, but the scale wasn’t something I latched onto, even if the fabric costumes of real licensed characters was a nice touch.  The first assortment will contain Captain Action, Action Boy, Dr. Evil and the Silver Streak!

Check out the latest information here, and keep watching ZICA Toys for the next exciting developments.  They are currently producing vintage styled Six Million Dollar Man figures (among others).  The full post can be seen below:

I’ve been given the green light to officially spill the beans on the Captain Action project. The format is 3.75″ scale done in the classic 80’s Hasbro G.I. Joe style. Starting out the line will include Captain Action, Action Boy, Dr. Evil and the Silver Streak!

Work is just getting started on this project but hopefully I’ll be able to start sharing prototype shots soon. So again, stay tuned!
