These TV spots actually popped up briefly yesterday on the GIJoeMovie YouTube channel, but were quickly marked as “Private” for some reason and not viewable. Well, that changed at some point in the past 24 hours, and now they’re up and ready to check out again.
It’s a good thing, too! No, there’s not a huge amount of new footage, but that scant couple of seconds with Cobra Commander departing the Water Moccasin surrounded by Cobra Troopers, Red Ninjas, and Storm Shadow? Totally worth it. Check out these two TV spots below. Also, a somewhat odd item to note.. The Terror Drome noticed that the date has changed in the TV Spot to March 28th. Whether that is meaningful or not, I’m not sure, but it something to note, anyway. It could just be referring to a special midnight premier, but figured it was at least worth pointing out.
The days continue to move on as we inch closer to March 29th and to the premier of G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Twitziller has posted his latest update, and on Fridays he goes right for the big guns! And in the realm of G.I. Joe, it doesn’t get a whole lot bigger than this guy.

Tough to argue about the importance of that dude. I still remember how wide my eyes opened when I first read Storm Shadow’s filecard back in 1984 with his ability to move faster than the eye could track and to scale walls with bare hands and feet. The concept of ninjas in a real world situation was just too cool. Larry Hama almost effortlessly told a tale of revenge, redemption, and honor, all built around a 4″ piece of white plastic, and to this day, that tale rings true among all the other madness in G.I. Joe lore.
Different trailers and scenes seem to indicate that perhaps similar redemption is found by Storm Shadow in the sequel film. Time will tell how that works out, but whatever happens, his role is a critical one. Keep checking Twitziller on Twitter for the next reasons, and you can find it all right here on GeneralsJoes as well. Past entries can be seen below.
Someone correct us if we’re wrong, but Twitziller pointed out this role play item at ToysRUs.com and I think it’s totally new. At least I don’t remember seeing it before. It looks like a kids’ version of Roadblock’s now infamous Battle Kata weapons vest. Allowing the wearer to store their role play weapons in the various pouches and be ready to kick some Cobra ass!
Check it out for $24.99 and take a peek at the images below.
Over on HissTank.com the always reliable TheGabrielAngel has posted some very cool stereoscopic 3D posters from G.I. Joe: Retaliation. These posters feature some new looks at Cobra Commander, Firefly, Roadblock, and Joe Colton.
The only hitch? You need 3D glasses to get the effect, and without them… they look pretty funky.
So, here’s another Storm Shadow. My first Storm Shadow since the infamous “one star” event from a week or so ago. Will this one fare any better? Would I really run another potential bad review to round off our work week? You’ll have to check out my G.I. Joe: Retaliation Page or just hit the link below.
