G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode 10 – Firefight added to episode guide

With Toy Fair 2011 on the horizon, I’m still pulling a late nighter tonight to get the latest excellent episode of G.I. Joe: Renegades added to the episode guide.  This week we got introduced to the flame-loving saboteur Firefly!
Check out the G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode Guide for details, or just hit up the link for Episode 10 directly.
I spent quite a bit of time this week revamping the Episode Guide to match the correct episode order, so don’t let my hard work go to waste!  😉

Last call reminder – Toy Fair 2011 coverage!

Tomorrow is the big day, and while G.I. Joe’s mention was noticeably absent from the official Hasbro Press Release today, I know there will still be some cool new stuff to look at in New York City tomorrow.
I’ll be there with camera in hand, and as next week goes along, the latest SuperPage will get made up, and as you’ve come to expect, GeneralsJoes will be right there with the information and the insight.  The Fan event starts at 1:00pm Eastern, and generally takes a few hours.  I can usually get myself to Grand Central by 4:30 – 5:00pm to take advantage of their free wireless and start getting stuff uploaded.
Also as a reminder, I will be Tweeting my ass off tomorrow (or trying to, at least, as I did today), so if you want to be first in line with the intel, follow me on Twitter.
I may even (though I’m not sure yet) set the site here to archive the Tweets as they go through, just to keep updates in both places.  We’ll see.
Yo Joe!  Next stop..  well, next stop is G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode 10 tonight.  Then on to New York City.

G.I. Joe film sequel now pencilled in for 2013

By and large, folks have been considering a 2012 release date pretty ambitious for the G.I. Joe film, considering there isn’t even a director lined up yet and we don’t even have confirmation that all of the cast members will be returning.
Word comes in today from the pre Toy Fair investor conference that G.I. Joe 2 is now officially slated for a 2013 release, not 2012.  The information comes from Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner, and was relayed through TFW2005.
Now we just need some confirmation that Jon Chu is sticking to dance movies, and we can consider today a “win”.

Three directors on Paramount's "short list" for G.I. Joe sequel

Longtime fan of the G.I. Joe property, El Mayimbe from Latino Review reports that Paramount may have possibly narrowed down the list of potential G.I. Joe sequel directors to three names.  I will admit, all three names mean nothing to me, but some of their work does.
On this list are Jaume Collet-Serra, F Gary Gray, and Jon Chu.  While none of them are really household names, Collet-Serra has helmed some financial successes including House of Wax, Orphan, and the upcoming Unkown with Liam Neeson is already showing some promise.  F Gary Gray seems to be the best name on the list, having a great action film resume, including The Italian Job, The Negotiator, and Law Abiding Citizen.
And then there’s Chu.  Jon Chu’s most notable films to date are Step Up 3D and Justin Bieber, Never Say Never.
No, I’m not kidding.
Hey, I know I’m a big fanboy and everything, but if Chu somehow ends up directing the G.I. Joe Sequel, I think that just might push me off the bus.  We’ll see.  These are all rumors for now, take it for what its worth.  El Mayimbe does have his finger on the pulse.
