A JoeCon Surprise – Paradrop Flint figure available to attendees!

Coming somewhat out of left field just a week before the Convention, the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club sends the following email with a picture!
“This year, Hasbro is sponsoring a private parachute drop for school kids to help promote the convention locally.
Since Hasbro knew that the venue was not accessible to attendees, they wanted to make sure you were a part of this great event by giving you one of the limited edition Flint figures that will be used at the drop.
These will be handed out to everyone with a convention badge who attends either of the two presentations given by Alan Hassenfeld on Friday morning in the Narragansett Ballroom at the Westin.
The first presentation will be at 8:30am and the second one will be at 11:30am. No seating will be allowed after 9:00am and 12:00pm.
The first Hasbro tour group’s presentation will be after their Hasbro tour while the second Hasbro tour group’s presentation will be before their tour.  Don’t be late! No seating will be allowed after 9:00am and 12:00pm.  Figures will be distributed at the conclusion of Mr. Hassenfeld’s presentation are are allocated one per attendee. Thanks to all of the fans who sent in questions for this once-in-a-lifetime event!
Here is “Paradrop” Flint!

See you in RI! – Brian”

Better box images revealed for Pursuit of Cobra Mech Suits

Big thanks to Wild Weasel from The Terror Drome who managed to dig up some auctions on eBay featuring images of the upcoming Pursuit of Cobra Mech Suits!  While I try to avoid revealing the overseas “gray market” auctions, when new images are a part of the package, I’m all in.
Check out the great box images below for the Steel Marauder w/ Kickstart, and the Cobra Deviant w/ Cyber-Viper!

Pursuit of Cobra SuperPage minor adjustments

A few folks have kindly let me know that my G.I. Joe: Pursuit of Cobra SuperPage was a just a little bit out of whack, so I’ve cleaned it up some.  I added a link to the old SuperPage, so folks can compare and contrast with what got phased out, and see how things have changed for 2010.
Also, due to some brain numbness on my part, I forgot to put in the two Mech Suits, so I added them as well.
Check out the adjusted page right here.  It’ll be interesting to see how much it changes after the Con next week!

G.I. Joe: Renegades the title for the animated series?

Take this as the major rumor that it is, but according to a thread by BCYOJOE on HissTank.com someone posted on Twitter that they’d uncovered a potential name for the upcoming G.I. Joe animated series.  The Twitter post was quickly deleted, but the poster had a screenshot.  Seems pretty convenient, but you never know.
Hopefully we’ll find out some more information at JoeCon next week!  Six days away!

Reviews around the web for G.I. Joe #17

The latest installment of IDW’s G.I. Joe series, Issue #17 debuted yesterday, and so far reactions have been pretty positive.  Even IGN, a site that has been pretty down on the mainstream Joe title due to pacing issues, gives it a 7.6 out of 10.  I haven’t made it to my local comic store yet, but I’m hoping to provide my own insight shortly.  Until then, check out some reviews at the following sites, who mostly had good things to say:

From what I can tell from the reviews, it looks like Dixon wrote a pretty good story with an interesting dichotomy between the Snake Eyes and Destro tales.  Looking forward to reading it myself.
